This project involved the refurbishment and extension of a 1960's retail park to reflect current tenants and investor requirements and with the need for increased footfall.

The main challenge was the undertaking of the major work whilst still maintaining a presence and trading for the tenants.  The original tenants included Argos, Co-Op and Carpetright and the enhanced scheme attracting Dreams, Subway, Pets at Home and Homefurnishings.

Nicol Thomas introduced mezzanine levels, extending the overall footprint and the raising of roof levels.  This increased the overall trading area by 20% thereby generating additional revenue for the client.

Externally the traffic circulation was segregated keeping pedestrians away from vehicular traffic including deliveries.  Additional landscaping was introduced and existing modified so that there was no visual barrier from the high street enhancing curb side appeal.

The contract also accommodated the removal of hazardous asbestos and the re-cladding of the walls and roof to current standards of insulation.
